The Software Engineer provides GE MapFrame application development and configuration services to clients and internal development teams.
Delivers solutions to clients.
Demonstrates and promotes excellence in all aspects of development. Including design, coding standards, testing and documentation.
Participates in regular project meetings.
Demonstrates strong technical writing and communication skills through participation in statement of work and functional requirement customer write-ups, customer and project management status calls, submission of technical documentation for development work, draft and review of end user documentation.
Participates in the design, development of customer projects using MapFrame application configurations, GIS/CIS/DMS extractions tools and methodologies, and appropriate programming languages.
Participates in the development of testing and training materials and supports and/or performs testing, training, and application deployment tasks for client. Signature: ~HJ~
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography / Cartography, Mathematics, or Engineering.
At least one year of software engineering experience.
Desired: *Proficient in C++ (with Microsoft development experience).
Ability to think outside the box.
Experience with spatial data or GIS.
Experience in C++, MFC, Visual Studio, Windows Mobile, SQL
Experience in commercial software applications
Experience in delivering / configuring business and/or workgroup applications
Experience in GIS / spatial data environments: ESRI, GE Smallworld, Intergraph, and/or Autodesk.
Experience in field crew automation for electric, gas, telecommunications, or cable operations.
Knowledge of work management applications from MDSI (Ventyx), Viryanet, LogicaCMG, CGI, Indus, @Road.
